“…[W]e are advancing a clear and ambitious energy transition strategy, recognising that energy is one of the most strategic sectors for Cyprus’ future. Our objective is to position Cyprus as a reliable regional energy hub that strengthens both national and regional energy security.

We are making steady progress through targeted investments in large-scale solar energy, offshore renewable pilot projects, energy storage systems and emerging technologies such as green hydrogen. These initiatives are fully aligned with the European Green Deal and are laying the groundwork for a modern, low-carbon economy.

A key project in this effort is the Great Sea Interconnector (GSI). This strategic infrastructure will enhance security of supply, enable cross-border energy trade and facilitate greater integration of renewable energy into the system.”
