Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have stepped up efforts to build a major transregional green energy corridor linking Central Asia and the South Caucasus.
The initiative was discussed during a trilateral meeting of energy officials held on the sidelines of the Uzbekistan Energy Week (UEW) 2026 in Tashkent, The Caspian Post reports via the Kazakh Energy Ministry.
The sides reviewed progress on the Green Corridor Alliance project, which aims to boost the production and transmission of renewable energy between the three countries and create a new platform for clean electricity trade.
Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Energy Bakytzhan Ilyas said the agreement signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan during COP29 laid the foundation for a sustainable regional energy corridor.
The ambitious project focuses on expanding renewable energy capacity, strengthening cross-border power links and opening routes for exporting green electricity to Europe and other international markets.
