Dan Jorgensen, the Danish commissioner for energy and housing at the European Commission, has affirmed that the EU's executive arm will do everything possible to ensure the implementation of the Crete-Cyprus electricity interconnection project. In this interview, he describes the Great Sea Interconnector (GSI) as “of the highest strategic importance” for Europe, as it will help strengthen electricity interconnections and, consequently, contribute to lowering energy prices – a top priority.
