Indonesia’s state-owned electricity company, PT PLN, remains confident in meeting its net zero emission target by 2060, emphasizing the use of the nation’s vast natural resources to achieve the goal.
PLN Director of Project Management and New and Renewable Energy (NRE), Suroso Isnandar, said on Tuesday that a key initiative is the Green Enabling Supergrid, a framework designed to connect renewable energy sources with major demand centers across Indonesia.
"In the new RUPTL (Electricity Supply Business Plan), we are promoting a program called the Green Enabling Supergrid," he stated. "It will resolve the supply-demand mismatch by transferring large volumes of NRE from source areas to demand centers."
