TNB, State Grid Corp of China ink MoU to advance Malaysia’s grid modernisation

Tenga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), through its wholly-owned subsidiary China Electric Power Equipment and Technology Co Ltd (CET), to enhance cooperation in power grid and distribution network development.

The collaboration aims to strengthen Malaysia’s grid modernisation efforts and support ASEAN’s broader vision for regional power interconnection.

The partnership will focus on three key areas which are power system planning and integration, smart and resilient networks, and digital and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions as well as leveraging SGCC and CET’s expertise in energy transition and advanced power systems to improve TNB’s grid operation and management.
