India's power transmission network is one of the largest in the world, comprising high-voltage transmission lines (220 kV and above) and substations. It's a critical component of the country's energy infrastructure, enabling the transfer of electricity from power plants to consumers across the nation. The World Bank reports that Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) has played a key role in transforming India's energy landscape through transmission network development.
