Saudi Arabia has signed three separate energy agreements with Kuwait, Qatar and Egypt, seeking to strengthen regional cooperation on electricity, oil and gas infrastructure, and renewable energy.
The agreements, signed by Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and his counterparts, focus on different areas of the energy sector, from cross-border electricity networks to oil and gas pipelines and fuel distribution.
Together, they reflect a broader effort to strengthen energy security, improve supply chains and create opportunities for joint infrastructure projects and investment across the region.
The first agreement, signed with Kuwait, focuses on electricity and renewable energy, including connecting power grids, expanding electricity exports and developing energy storage and smart grid technologies.
Signed by Kuwait’s Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Subaih Al-Mukhizim, it also covers artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital transformation in the energy sector.
